Marie Christie, Project Director, Homecoming Scotland said: “With music forming such an integral part of our year long Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations we are delighted to be working in partnership with this prestigious event which kick starts the festivities of our Homecoming Finale St Andrew’s weekend. The event will pay tribute to many of the musicians who have provided the soundtrack to the year and Nordoff-Robbins will ensure that the joy of music can be experienced by as many as possible in the future.”

Glasgow SECC
John Sharkey, Group Chief Executive of the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) said:"The SECC is delighted and honoured to sponsor the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Tartan Clef Awards. As Scotland's largest entertainment venue for live music it is not only fitting but right that we show our support for a tremendous charity that uses the power of music to help children and adults with special needs. As part of this support we are offering our customers the opportunity to make a voluntary donation to the charity when purchasing tickets at www.SECCtickets.com."
"Each year we have watched the Tartan Clef Awards grow in status and recognition to become the most prestigious music awards ceremony in Scotland, celebrating the very best in Scottish talent and let's face it, there is a wealth. ÒIt is this growth in the live music industry that has been the catalyst for constructing our new 12,000- seat Scottish National Arena, as demand for our biggest and busiest hall increases year on year. This is undoubtedly a fortunate position to be in and it heralds exciting times ahead because the SECC is about to get even bigger and better. When it opens for business in 2012, the iconic Scottish National Arena will be a world-class venue, attracting the very best of international, national and Scottish talent. The experience for performing artists, promoters and the public will be superb and it will be a facility that we can all enjoy and be proud of."
"Music is at the heart of the SECC and this is driven by a nation that is passionate about music in all its genres. As a venue we are privileged that we get to experience first-hand how music transcends social boundaries to bring people together, Nordoff-Robbins takes this to a higher level by enriching people's lives through music therapy and the results are truly amazing. By showing our emotional and financial support we can all play our part in securing the future of this charity to ensure that more people's lives are touched and enhanced by the great work of Nordoff-Robbins. I speak for everyone at the SECC when I say that it is a real honour to support this year's Tartan Clef Award. Recognising the excellence of our home-grown talent against the backdrop of this charity's inspiring work is a true celebration of music. I would like to congratulate all of tonight's winners."
Glasgow: Scotland With Style
Not so very long ago Time Magazine described Glasgow as 'Europe's Secret Capital of Music'. All that changed for good however back in August when its cover was well and truly blown and it was confirmed as a UNESCO City of Music. This prestigious accolade not only acknowledged Glasgow's rich musical pedigree but also endorsed the city's international reputation for being cutting edge, creative and innovative. Music is everywhere in the city and, in a typical week, 127 events take place across Glasgow, which generate a staggering £75 million annually for the local economy. The city's music scene is legendary and stretches across the whole spectrum from contemporary and classical to Celtic and Country. Its venues too are equally varied with King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow Barrowland, Carling Academy, Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, City Halls and the Old Fruitmarket just some of the spots where you can catch a gig or listen to a concert. In what is a particularly auspicious year Glasgow City Marketing Bureau is delighted to be sponsoring the 2008 Glasgow: Scotland with style Lifetime Achievement Award, which goes to a band who have more than earned a place in the city's music pantheon: Orange Juice.
Orange Juice were at the centre of the city's creative movement in the early 1980's and with Postcard Records provided the musical soundtrack for a style aware, forward thinking generation. Twenty years on their songs still sound as fresh today and have captured the imagination of the next generation of music fans. This evening Orange Juice will be together for the first time in two decades in what will be a fitting tribute to their artistry and their outstanding contribution to Glasgow's music heritage. Glasgow City Marketing Bureau is proud to be a supporter of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland and hope that the money raised tonight will enable the charity to continue its unique and truly inspirational work.
Guitar Guitar
I have been involved with Nordoff-Robins since the first ever meeting we had in 1999 to discuss the possibility of an awards night in Scotland, and here we are on the night of our 10th Annual Tartan Clef's. It has been a long journey since the first night in the City Chambers with only three awards. Last year we introduced a Folk Trad and Roots award and I was proud to sponsor this award for its first year with Phil Cunningham and Ally Bain being deserving recipients (and they also gave us a wee tune!). So I hope you will enjoy this year's recipient, Dougie MacLean, just as much and perhaps he'll give us a song too! So on behalf of Guitar Guitar have a great night and lets raise as much money as possible for Nordoff-Robins Music Therapy.

Ticketmaster
We are delighted to sponsor the Ticketmaster Singer/Songwriter of the Year Award at the Tartan Clef Awards in aid of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland, and send congratulations to all the award winners and nominees.
At the very heart of the work of Nordoff-Robbins is the understanding that music has the power to reach into people's lives in a unique way. We believe this too, and so we are really proud to support the inspiring work of this charity. We have recently introduced the facility for fans in Scotland to donate money to NRMT in Scotland when they are purchasing tickets, and the generosity of ticket purchasers already means we soon hope to be on our way to raising a substantial sum for the charity. Please look out for this opportunity the next time you chose to purchase tickets using Ticketmaster!

Sunday Mail
The Sunday Mail is passionate about music and when big names talk, they talk to us. We deliver the hottest news, reviews and interviews every week to ensure our music coverage is unrivalled. We also provide the most comprehensive reports from T In The Park, Scotland's biggest annual music festival, and the other open-air spectaculars. Not everyone will agree with every review ... but every music fan knows they come from the heart. And our enthusiasm for music stretches from the biggest arenas to the smallest clubs and everywhere in between. The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, U2, Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Stevie Wonder, Oasis and Bon Jovi lead a string of superstar acts happy to be interviewed in Scotland's biggest paper.
We love our music but we're just as passionate about Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland. The paper has supported this fantastic charity for years and applaud the tireless, invaluable work done by their team of dedicated therapists. The Nordoff team provides an invaluable service to handicapped children and adults across Scotland. We've seen first hand the difference a bang of a drum, a chord on a piano or a strum of a guitar can make to a child.
Once again, we are delighted to sponsor the Tartan Clef for Industry. Our previous winners have included major Scottish music business figures such as ex-Creation Records boss Alan McGee, former Simple Minds manager Bruce Findlay and Regular Music founders, Pete Irvine and Barry Wright. Now Rab Andrew & Gerry McElhone of GR Management have been added to that most distinguished line up.

Sir Reo Stakis Foundation
The late Sir Reo Stakis was a great philanthropist and supported many charitable causes. He loved music and children and appreciated the phenomenal work carried out by the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland.
The Outstanding Contribution to Music Award honours those who have created greatness through their music. It recognises both innovation and a lifetime dedication to one's craft. Sharleen Spiteri has in no doubt enriched our Scottish culture with her dedication to the Scottish music scene. Tonight we are here to celebrate one of Scotland's finest.
