Gleddoch Golf Day 12.05.10

Thank you to everyone at Gleddoch House Golf Course and hotel for helping make the annual Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland golf event such a great day. The sun was shining and £12,500 was raised for the charity, which is no mean feat in the current financial climate. Comedian Scott Glynn had everyone creased over with his quick fire put-downs and we had three generations of footballer there with Bertie Auld, Murdo MacLeod and John Hartson all in attendance.

Most of all, thank you to all our teams for their continued support and generosity and helping to make the day one of the best yet. View photos here.

Silverburn Instrument Amnesty 08.04.10

NRMTS & 96.3 Rock Radio had a fantastic day at Silverburn shopping centre on Thursday 4th April. Thanks to everyone who took the time to bring us their unwanted instruments and donate money, your generosity is hugely appreciated and the instruments will be used in music therapy sessions across Scotland.

We will be back at Silverburn soon and are still on the look out for tambourines, maracas, bongo drums and the like so if you've got any unwanted items gathering dust, bring them down and say hello!

The Link

A huge thank you to Chloe Milne whose art event, The Link, raised an amazing £2000 for NRMTS. The Link celebrated the bond between music and art and musicians from Tartan Clef 2009 winner King Creosote, Douglas T Stewart (BMX Bandits), Little Pebble, Gordon Anderson (The Beta Band/Aliens) and Christian Ward were among those who all very kindly donated their work to the exhibition. Thank you to everyone involved!

Ticketmaster donations

In the last seven months Ticketmaster has raised £11,000 for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland from donations from music fans.

Ticketmaster has been a long-term supporter of the charity and also sponsors one of our Tartan Clef Awards. The proceeds were presented on Friday 19th June by Colette Grufferty to Donald Macleod, (fundraising Chairman) at The Tartan Clef Pop Quiz.

For all Ticketmaster ticketed events in Scotland customers are presented with the option to make a donation to the charity before finalising their purchase of tickets. This initiative has not been launched for a particular artist or event, but is available for all events and is part of an on-going campaign.

Thanks to everyone who has chosen to donate £1 or more to the charity, it’s great to see that, in these tough times, the people of Scotland are still so generous.

Cardonald College
