Nordoff Robbins Annual Golf Day 2007

golfThe day was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves. Most importantly however, this year's Golf Day managed to raise over £12,000, which allows the amazing work that the music therapists do continue – helping children and adults with various disabilities to communicate through the power of music.

Nordoff Robbins Art Evening

paintingThis art sale was a first for Nordoff-Robbins and looks set to become one of Scotland’s biggest and brightest charity fundraisers with amazing donations from celebrities, artists and Art in The City which includes paintings from artists such as Peter Howson, Sam Skelton, Joan Sommerville and one piece from John Bellany.

Other donations such as Gold Discs from Greenday, Franz Ferdinand, Katie Melua and Paul Simon, were available to buy alongside one of Bryan Adams famous photographs and a sculpture worth £4,600 from David Begbie. Works of art from Fay Curran, Krastyo Todorov, Mike Turpie, Shan Whyte, Stephen Caruthers and Veronica Oats were also being featured.

All at Nordoff Robbins think that this event made a great addition to our yearly events programme. Plans are already under way to host a similar event in early 2008 so look out for more information on this soon!

The day will end with a buffet dinner and sports quiz. It’s a day for players of all levels and abilities to work together and have fun so make sure you book your team for 2008.

Tartan Clef Awards 2006

pauloThe Tartan Clefs 2006 was, as always the highlight of the Norodff Robbins Calendar. The event saw over 450 Nordoff Robbins supporters and music fans congregate in the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow.

On the night eight awards were given out to Paulo Nutini, Sandi Thom, Tiger Tim, Paul Buchanan, Carol Kidd, Clash Magazine and Mark Hamilton.

Paolo Nutini and Sandi Thom delighted the audience by performing some of their songs which had the crowd bobbing in there seats and on their feet.

Tiger Tim received the Rio Stakis Lifetime achievement award and was noticeably moved by the standing ovation and reaction for the audience creating one of the most amazing moments of the night.

The event was truly very special and the reason for holding this event was highlighted when a video of Dillan, who receives music therapy was shown on the big screens. Dillan’s mum and dad then gave a short but powerful speech on how much music therapy means to them and Dillan.

Everyone truly appreciated the reason behind this spectacular event and this was reflected by the total amount raised on the night which was over £73,000.
