THE GARAGE, GLASGOW - WEDNESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2010

The cream of Scotland's comedy talent will unite on Wednesday 29th September at the Glasgow Garage to raise money for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland.

Hosted by comedian and Galaxy breakfast host Des Clarke and Lewis "man of a thousand voices" MacLeod, the inaugural Nordoff-Robbins Comedy Gala promises a night of chortles and guffaws from some of the biggest names in Scottish comedy.

Featuring Scottish Bafta winner Greg McHugh AKA Gary Tank Commander, award winning comedian and broadcaster Bruce Morton, football pundit, journalist and broadcaster Tam Cowan, Glasgow's queen of comedy Janey Godley, Variety Award winner Susan Calman, writer and comedian Joe Heenan and So You Think You're Funny 2010 winner James Kirk.

Mhairi Cowley, fundraising coordinator for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland says, "We are delighted to be bringing together such a diverse range of comedians for what's to be the first of many Nordoff-Robbins Comedy Gala events. We can't thank everyone involved enough for giving up their time to help raise much needed cash for our charity. The money raised will make a huge difference to our therapists who carry out music therapy sessions in schools, hospitals and at our bases across Scotland."

Des Clarke says, "I can't wait for the Nordoff-Robbins Comedy Gala - mainly because I've got the cushiest job on the night. I get to introduce probably the best comedy line up of the year. Every one of these acts is a star in their own right.Plus we're all doing this for a truly brilliant cause. I've been involved in various fundraising efforts with Nordoff-Robbins and seen first hand the real difference they make to people's lives through music therapy.
So roll on the 29th September for a great night of laughter therapy!"
