Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland are thrilled to announce that this years Tartan Clef Music Awards will be held at the fantastic Old Fruit Market in Glasgow’s Merchant City, on Saturday 22nd November 2008.

This year’s event will follow on last year’s success and it will again feature live performances and see Scotland’s best music talent receiving awards on the night.

Past recipient and performers have included: Wet Wet Wet, Franz Ferdinand, Bifffy Clyro, Idle Wild, Amy Macdonald, Richard Jobson of the Skids, Gun, Johnny MceLhone and Sharleen Spiteri of Texas, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Runrig, Nicola Benedetti, Nazareth, Lulu, Jim Kerr from Simple Minds, Donovan, Deacon Blue, Darius, Cosmic Rough Riders, Average White Band, Annie Lennox, Hue and Cry, Midge Ure and Lucie Silvas.

The evenings Programme will begin with a complimentary drinks reception, followed by a sumptuous dinner, raffle and auction, award ceremony featuring live performances and after party.

Tartan Clef Awards 2007

Saturday 24th November saw an extremely successful Tartan Clef Music Awards. Wet Wet Wet kicked off the night with a couple of songs from their new album which truly got the crowd going for the night ahead.

Guests were also treated to performances from Biffy Clyro, Amy Macdonald, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, The Law and Generation X accompanied by Richard Jobson from the Skids.

10 Awards were given out on the night they were:

Optical Express Tartan Clef Award - Franz Ferdinand.
Glasgow Scotland with Style Best Newcomer Award - Amy Macdonald.
Guitar Guitar Best Trad Act Award - Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain.
Forty Two Financial Planning Song Writer Award - Johnny Mcelhone.
Visit Scotland Best Festival Act - Idlewild.
96.3 Rock Radio’s Scottish Rock Award - Gun
Ticket Master Band of the Year Award - Biffy Clyro
XFM Scotland New Music Rising Award - The Law
Sunday Mail Industry Award - Barry Wright and Pete Irvine
Reo Stakis Lifetime Achievement Award – The Skids.

Tartan Clef AwardsAn amazing night was had by all, but most importantly we managed to raise a staggering £144,000 for Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland!
